Yet another desert made with Terragen 2

I made this one on my new computer which has 4GB of ram and an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPU which cut down render times significantly.

This seems a bit empty to me but I am unsure of what to fill it with.

That´s really nice! The best T2 pic I´ve seen so far - usually they are terribly grainy, compared with the old Terragen. Even yours has this, but only a little bit. I wonder why that is so - usually a new generation of program should be better than the previous one.
Don´t worry about the emptiness, that´s what desert are famous for... ;)

The grainyness could be caused by jpeg artifacts which seem to appear on either low quality settings or high resoloution images, I might start saving them as PNG files in the future to see if this resolves some of the grainyness. Also another possible reason for the grainyness with Terragen 2 is that Terragen 2 is a resource hog so people render with lower quality and anti aliasing but with a quad core CPU this is not really noticable for me is multi threaded.

Well, I only tried the free T2 trial version, and apart of the horrible UI I was disappointed about the pics that came out.
But it could be me not understanding how to get the settings right...

Nice to have a new, fast PC... :) I´m also thinking of getting a new one - the fasted box I have is already 5 years old!

The UI is good when you get use to it although there is a big learning curve comming rom Terragen 1. I recomend using atleast a dual core CPU although a quad core CPU is recomended for Terragen 2 due to it's love of using lots of CPU time.

Perhaps I look into it again, when I have a faster PC. When I buy one, it will be something really fast, don´t worry. :)
They are not so expensive nowadays... ;)
